Spectacular road and landscape
What used to be one of the most dangerous roads in the world built by man, has now been rehabilitated and renovated, suitable for the enjoyment of anyone who wants a little adventure
Unforgettable experience, if you don’t have vertigo
The route is linear, not circular, with ups and downs, with spectacular vertical stone walls that run for almost half a kilometre. The River Guadalhorce flows downstream after passing through the El Chorro reservoir. The distance to be covered in the “Caminito” is about 8 km, of which 4.5 km is access and another 3.5 km is door to door from the footbridges. Because of how dangerous the old road was until it was restored, the footbridge is the most amazing part of the journey.
There are two entrances, one through Ardales and the other through El Chorro. The estimated time to walk it is 3 to 4 hours. You don’t have to be an athlete to do it but you have to be in minimum physical condition. You can walk the Caminito either on your own or with a guide. The guide will point out details that you would miss and explain some things that will make you understand the difficulty of the walk and its subsequent restoration.
